How To Get The Best Price For Your Car
Recent magazine articles have shown that valeting can add as much as £500 to the part exchange value of a car worth around £4,000. Take advantage of the specialist products on sale and do it yourself.
You will need all or some of the following:
Car Shampoo, Glass Cleaner, Paint Restorer Polish, Cloths, Upholstery Cleaner, Alloy Wheel Cleaner, Plastic Trim Restorer
Step 1:
Clean out the inside of your car and remove any loose mats. Once done, vacuum the upholstery.
Step 2:
Use a foam fabric or upholstery cleaner to remove any stubborn marks.
Step 3:
Use a suitable cleaner on plastic trim parts - spray it onto a cloth to avoid overspray on surrounding components.
Step 4:
Use a glass cleaner to clean the windows, both the interior and exterior surface.
Step 5:
Use an alloy wheel cleaner on the wheels, if applicable. Gloves may be worn if needed.
Step 6:
If the tyres look a bit scruffy, a special tyre polish like this will remove brake dust and grime from the sidewalls. Keep it off the tread.
Step 7:
Finish up by polishing the paintwork - use a paint-restoring or 'cutting' polish if the old paint has faded.
